About the Founder

Built by someone who’s been in the trenches.

I’m Alex Mercer, founder of Ratiom. I’ve spent over 20 years in digital marketing and the last decade almost exclusively on Shopify brands doing paid social and CRO. I’ve worked in-house, agency-side, and as a fractional CMO. I’ve seen what works, what doesn’t, and what most agencies actively avoid telling you.

I started Ratiom because I kept seeing the same problem: brands spending serious money on ads, with serious traffic, getting mediocre results because their offer, creative, and site weren’t connected. No one was taking ownership of the whole system. So I built a service that does exactly that.

What does Ratiom actually do?

How is this different from a regular ads agency?

Most agencies optimize ad accounts in isolation while your landing page and offer remain untouched. We look at the whole system — your offer, your creative, your messaging, and your site — and optimize them together. A click is only valuable if it converts. We work both sides of that equation.

How does the onboarding process work?

You fill out a short intake form. If it looks like a strong fit, you’ll get a free personalized Loom audit of your current funnel. If we move forward, onboarding takes about one week: access setup, initial audit, and your 90-day roadmap. You’ll have everything you need to see the plan clearly before we start executing.

What is the minimum commitment?

90 days. That’s the minimum time needed to audit, build, test, and see meaningful data from what we implement. After 90 days, you continue month-to-month with 30 days written notice to cancel. We don’t do rolling 12-month contracts.

Who will I be working with day-to-day?

Directly with Alex, the founder. There are no account managers, no junior strategists, and no handoffs to someone who wasn’t on the original call. This is one of the core reasons the service works the way it does.

Does the price include ad spend?

No. Ad spend goes directly to Meta and is controlled by you. Our fee covers strategy, creative production, site optimization, testing, and management. We help you allocate your budget more effectively — but we don’t take a cut of it.

How do you handle creative production?

Creative production is included in all plans. We produce static and video ad creatives designed around your audience and offer — not generic templates. We use a structured testing framework to identify winning angles, then scale what the data proves. You retain ownership of all creative assets.

Do you work with B2B or service businesses?

No. Ratiom is exclusively for direct-to-consumer Shopify brands. Our methods, frameworks, and benchmarks are built around e-commerce. If you’re a service business or B2B brand, we’re not the right fit.
